That's so nice! The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it was all the brightly colored candy sprinkles on cakes and ice cream.

Must be hungry ...

Very, very nice.

There is new way of paper piecing now where you don't have to rip all the paper off. You don't actually sew through to the paper. There are courses and tutorials but can't find them right now. That is a beautiful quilt and i LOVE paper piecing!!

I saw a show on that recently Tricky, but I can't remember if it as Fons and Porter or Simply Quilts, or what. But I loved the technique! So much easier to fold the paper along the sew lines and sew right next to them then to sew through the paper and have to rip it all out!! And, you don't have to print out a gabillion pattern pieces. You can use them over and over again. Great technique!

Thanks for tweaking the memory banks lin--that was how it was done--fold and sew!!There was something too about using either wax paper or velum so the paper pieces last longer. I think I read somewhere also that there is paper available in the US of course--not yet in Canada eh!!for doing that kind of paper piecing.
We are headed to the US in acouple of days as we are heading east from BC to Ontario so I will look for a Hancocks and check it out.

I hope you find what it is you're looking for so you can come back and let us know what it is! :D I don't remember a special paper to use, but I'd love to know what works best.

For now, I've discovered that the "scribble" paper for kids works well. And it's cheap!!! $1.99 for 50 sheets I think. Anything to make paper piecing easier. :)
