Fractured Flowers

1 Attachment(s)
Here is my latest finished top. The pattern is Fractured Flowers by Cindy McCracken. It uses 2 of the Hoffman big flower panels.

That flower is just stunning.

toverly 11-26-2019 01:20 PM

Awesome. I have looked at those panels, they are so pretty. This is the first actual pattern I have seen made with them. Usually it is just showing off the quilting skills. Beautiful in their own way but I really like yours.

SewingSenior 11-26-2019 01:34 PM

It is beautiful, I love it.

meyert 11-26-2019 02:48 PM

AprilM 11-26-2019 03:48 PM

Gorgeous! Please show us when you get the quilting done? I have 2 of the flower panels but still too chicken to quilt them!

mindless 11-26-2019 04:19 PM

Kathy that is beautiful!
I just got that pattern last week, and I will be starting it right after Thanksgiving.
Is her pattern easy to follow?

Yours turned out so pretty!

Jingle 11-26-2019 05:16 PM

Turned out beautifully.

Claire123 11-26-2019 05:43 PM

This is striking! Just beautiful. I hope you will enter it in a fair or quilt show when it's quilted and bound.

Mariposa 11-26-2019 05:46 PM

It's a beauty!

Yes the pattern was easy to follow... the trick is not mixing up your strips as you cut them. Two of the quarters I switched the strips and it was evident in the sewn quarter so I had to redo those. I numbered my strips like U(pper)R(ight)2 and L(ower)L(eft)7 but still managed to mix them up.

LAF2019 11-26-2019 06:29 PM

That turned out nice. it is good to see an alternative use for those panels.

Good to know. Thank you!
I'll be happy if mine turns out to be half as pretty as yours.

osewme 11-27-2019 01:43 PM

So very, very pretty. I would like to try a "fractured" something one of these days.

Omg! I just ordered the pattern from Amazon after seeing your picture! I have 2 panels ready to go! Beautiful work

LindaMRB 12-04-2019 05:27 AM

Wow, that's such an interesting quilt - fabric and pattern - and you did a great job...

Irishrose2 12-04-2019 11:40 PM

That is outstanding - now I need to get another panel.

earthwalker 12-05-2019 12:35 AM

Looks lovely, lovely but tricky I think.

Battle Axe 12-05-2019 01:32 AM

Are your two panels the same colorway?? Aren't the panels the same digital image just shaded differently? What would it look like using two panels that were not the same?

I ordered one and got a plum. I thought the color was dull, at least compared to the other colorways. So I ordered an orchid one. Not here yet.

betthequilter 12-05-2019 06:35 AM

Stunning .... and so different. Love it!

Tish05 12-05-2019 06:49 AM

That's really pretty. It's so dimensional! How large is it?

I have a set of panels to make a king sized quilt for my bed. Haven't started it yet. I'm gathering some experience before I start.

QuiltingVagabond 12-05-2019 04:11 PM

No, these are 2 different colorways of the same panel. I was worried that there would not be enough contrast but it worked out pretty well.

I've seen some fractured quilts but none as pretty as yours. Great choice of panels and beautifully stitched!

sue.ross.8782 12-19-2019 10:16 AM

What a great way to use those stunning flower panels. I can't wait to see how your quilt it.
