Great quilt. You are really talented.

Sierra 11-18-2012 08:54 PM

YOur quilt work is fantastic! Am I imagining it, or are quilters out there getting more daring, more relaxed, more interesting? No pattern! You have ideas in your head that beat most of the patterns on the market. Many are too complex for me to do, and almost too complex for me to even spend too much time looking at. But yours could keep a person busy for a long time, just looking!

O my Gosh, this is just simply perfect Would love to see even more pictures of this quilt. give us some closeups and hints as to how you did this, not that I could even dream of something so simply perfect.

Thanks to all on the board for their encouraging remarks.
There were some questions asked and I will try to explain my answers. Also, someone asked to see more details. I will try to add more pics.
This quilt was hand pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. The design started with the figure holding the quilt and everything else came about from ideas that came to me as it progressed. I don't fully plan out my designs from the start. They evolve as I go along, fitting ideas into the spaces in the background. It is finished when I run out of ideas. The border was pieced on some paper adding machine tape.
I realize that none of my quilts can actually be duplicated but that is the price I pay for the way I think things out. This is the way my mind works.

Why in the world would you want to get back to making ordinary quilts when you can do something as creative as this?
I absolutely love the small little extras ..like the cat on an ironing board and the sewing machine and thread. You inspire me to try to create something more whimsical. Great quilt.
