I'm doing some FMQ on a small-ish lap quilt this evening and thought I'd share some pictures of my FMQ setup.

Enjoy!

I LOVE my little light; don't know what I'd do without it!

This shows a good view of the table space I use. I built this in to a dormer area in my sewing studio a month or so ago. :-)

Great job. I hope someday I will be a good FMQer, still working on it. I need a wider table, need more support for quilt.

Having enough support for the quilt makes all the difference in the world! Before I had this table, I used a sewing machine table with 2 or 3 small folding tables around it. I had to set them up in the dining room, but it worked.

Nice area you've made for yourself! Looks like you're doing a great job!! Can't wait to see it finished.
Did you trace a stencil pattern on first? I know nothing of how to FMQ but want to learn.

Nope, no stencil for this; I'm just winging it. I do draw a bit of a design out on paper first to get the feel for what I want to do. The great thing about doing FMQ is that I don't have to follow any lines; lots more fun that way!
