Absolutely gorgeous with my favorite colors - lime, raspberry and purple!

redworkrene 06-24-2010 07:38 PM

It is the Cafe' Ole quilt from French Braid Quilts book by Jane Hardy Miller. My color scheme is quite different from that in the book.

If it's in a book, you'd violate copyright by sending a copy of the pattern. People make their living by sell ing their books and patterns.

amma 06-25-2010 09:17 AM

Oooooo your fabric selections make this a very stunning quilt :D:D:D

redworkrene 06-25-2010 10:36 AM

Your right and I do not send books or patterns. But will provide the name of the book and author so those interested can buy the book.

AkAngel 06-25-2010 12:12 PM

Love it... I really like your color choices.
This is another of those must do's on my bucket list. LOL as long as my bucket list is already I'll never die!!

Did you use jelly rolls or cut your own strips, beautiful coloring

redworkrene 06-25-2010 05:34 PM

I cut all my own strips from batik fabrics. Bought the batiks at The Joy of Quilting quilt shop in Florence, Oregon when I was on vacation last summer. They had such a wonderful selection. I even called them later to order the border fabric which they sent to me in So. California.

Evelynquilts 06-25-2010 05:36 PM

I do not know if this thread is still running, but I am catching up on matters and wondering is that ALEX ANDERSON in the photo with you? She and Ricky Tims are really something to watch.

LETIA 08-07-2011 07:27 AM

Your quilt is fabulous.

redworkrene 08-07-2011 12:10 PM

Yes, that is Alex Anderson. I had that picture taken with her at Road to California Quilt Show a couple of years ago. I am a charter member of The Quilt Show. com and really enjoy it.

All Thumbs 08-07-2011 12:50 PM

Yes, the QuiltShow.com site is a nice one but I was unable to easily get into the site as a member. Seems the word OMNIport keeps coming in. I do, however, take a link via my Bernina newsletter and get to see some of free videos. Originally, I am from Colorado and because of that I love seeing-hearing Ricky Tims and all the things Alex does too.
