I just finished this quilt -- I've been hoarding a charm pack of Fresh Air by Chez Moi, for Moda for a few years now. The batik brown and beige are from my stash. The pattern is an adaptation of Chain Link (I purchased the pattern from a blogger, but after reading directions, I decided to make it with strip piecing, as that's my preferred method. I also set the blocks differently from the original pattern.)

The quilting is just a loose stipple with a variegated thread by sulky. It was fast and easy to fmq. This one is going in our TV room.

Oh, I like it. Love the fabrics but really like the open feeling the light fabric creates.

Thanks, I think I will "steal" this idea for a charm pack that I have :-)

craftyheart2 10-31-2011 10:40 PM

Terrific way to show off a collection of fabric.
I might steal the idea too.

I like it. I have never seen that pattern before. I like your meandering. It is very curvatious.

I love it - if I look at it one way, the cream chains are dominant then if I shift my gaze, the browns spring to the front. Cool!

Wonderful and I'm with you chain piecing is the best.

Very pretty! Would put it on my list of ones to make, but I need to live to be at least 250 to make the ones on there now!

Thanks all, for the kind words.

The pattern is available here: http://www.diaryofaquilter.com/p/sho...f-quilter.html

I agree that it's a nice way to showcase charm squares. I think it works best with fabrics in a midrange -- allows for contrast with both the light and the dark of the setting strips. This truly is a quick quilt to put together -- perfect for gift giving. Two charm packs makes a generous throw size.

Izy 11-01-2011 03:28 PM

That's really lovely, the pattern is so effective :D
