Here is the matching cushion cover :D
Colours are abit washed out with the flash, but it sure looks inviting, might just sit there with a book and snuggle down!! |

the roses are what makes the quilt, then add in the complimentary fabrics, Wala! Just a beauty, no doubt about it.

Many thanks to everyone for your lovely comments :D :D :D
Terri & Elle: the quarter blocks were already made up so didn't take long to stitch the cushion top, then free motioned the sandwich..BOY is it easy on a little thing, I think I am getting confident enough to now start doing some patterns  BTW I hacked the front off my plastic closed darning foot, so I can see where I am going better without distortion, as I couldn't justify the Ģ30 for a new one, so just took a serrated kitchen knife and hacked that baby down...NOW I need to do a little adjustment as it hung up on a couple of seams, but it was SOOOOOOOOOO much better to see !! |

Izy that is well-named! It's so fresh and pretty and the fussy cut roses really make it something special. You have a real talent for putting random fabrics together and making them look like a coordinated collection. I know you're working from limited resources, even taking Terri's awesome generosity into account, it's not the same as having an LQS on your doorstep! :D

This is my first post ever. I have been absolutely enjoying all the quilts I see here and have been too afraid to even start - but - that is over - I will be posting a picture before Christmas.
Now my question - what kind of batting did you use for this quilt? It is beautiful and looks very thick and soft. My granddaughter would love it. Thanks to everyone here for all your inspiration - I feel like I am going to fit right in here. Blessings, Scherrie |

Blessings, Scherrie The batting I used was a 80% cotton 20% polyester mix, BUT I used it DOUBLE as this will be going to the UK where it gets pretty cold during the winter!! I don't know the actual brand name as it is bought by our group but I am sure that some of our members can recommend an american brand for you that is similar!! Thanks for your lovely compliments and I look forward to seeing some of your quilts too!! :D |
