Just finished...It will be a BD gift for DD. I showed her the top at Thanksgiving, and she loved it. Said it would be great to hang in her classroom (she teaches middle school). That was my inspiration to get it finished.

blahel 02-27-2010 07:08 PM

so cute and bright, perfect for a classroom!

DJ 02-27-2010 08:13 PM

Thank you all! The inner border is kind of sandy-looking, and I really searched for the right outer border. Then I didn't know what to use for the binding. In looking through my stash, I happened upon an orange fabric that has little bubbles all over it. You can't see it in the picture, but it was the perfect edging.

I want to make this same quilt for my grandson. I was looking at the pattern again tonight. How hard is it to piece? I have trouble seeing, and I'm leery of the small pieces.

You did a really swell job on the quilt. Carol

Carol ~ I didn't have too much trouble with the piecing, but it does have some smaller pieces. Good luck with yours.

sewnsewer2 03-03-2010 04:44 PM

Cute!

CAROLJ 03-03-2010 07:55 PM

DJ, thanks for the info. I like the background better on yours, it looks more like water. I think I'll borrow this idea from your quilt. I hope mine turns out as cute as yours. Carol
