I have the perfect fabrics to give this a try. I will also make my own templates using a 12 1/2" ruler and a home made 10 1/2" square of plastic that my DH will cut for me.

Your fun and done is just beautiful. Love the colors. Thanks for the tip about the zipper foot. I will have to try that.

Mine is 1 1/4 inches bigger all around but you could make it two that would just make your sashing 1 inch in each side =2 inches completed.

Up North, Thank you so much for the link to the tutorial. I'll have to try this, it looks like it would work up very quickly. Do you have any hints to making the template? How many inches wide did you make the outside template, (the part that gets folded in twice and sewn), is it about 2 inches? It's not that we're cheap, it's just that we'd rather spend our money on fabric, fabric and more fabric.

Sorry, Just noticed that you posted that already, Thanks again!!!

I can't believe just how fast this is going and your quilt looks beautiful!

up north - if you run out of pansies, can you finish with a row of co-ordinating fabric all around the outside edges, as many rows as you like?
