I inherited my MIL's Singer 6268 - This is one of the first machines with computerized embroidery modules... It has 20 built in embroidery stitches - but you can plug in a crazy looking cassette and it adds new stitches.

I'm working on a crazy quilt using dryer sheets as the foundation and then I'm embroidering the seams with her machine. Lots of fun...

It didn't get rid of many of my scraps though..

Congrats on the machine. You do look like you are having fun. This is a great way to get to know all those wonderful stitches you have on your machine.

Teresa how did you sew in the rust colored scrap sewn in the last pics??? Did you overlap fabric??? I have some odd shapes that I would like to use.

Love the blocks, and I want to try one, but I know it is time consuming.

Great idea! I have made the scrappy type block and never thought of using my decor stitching. So many stitches. I am trying to start using them this year. Want to see the completed project when it is ready!!

Almost all my seams to attach the pieces to the foundations are straight. So - on that piece, I only sewed one side, the one without the curve. Then I folded over the other edge and am using the embroidery to keep it flat.

What a neat idea using the dryer sheets. I have a ton of them that I saved to do a baby quilt, I'll try the crazy quilt thing on what is left. The embroidery stitches are great. Great job. Can't wait to see the finished product.
