Fun use for tiny scraps
3 Attachment(s)
I recently completed paper piecing a NYB quilt top and was left with a bag of tiny, but oh so pretty scraps of batiks. Along came the opportunity of embellishing a plain purchased jean jacket for my dear grand daughter. I was able to use scraps as little as 1 inch for the prairie points, and the paper pieced button flower used up the skinniest strips.
Credits: Pattern for NYB quilt top is from Judy Niemeyer. The ideas for the jacket are my own, the cushion flower on the back of the jacket is a reduced paper pieced pattern from Radiant New York Beauties book by Valori Wells. |
How adorable! You certainly used your scraps to great advantage, your granddaughter is the winner. And.....your NYB is truly a NYB!!!!!

Your quilt is gorgeous! I admire anyone who does paper piecing. I find it tedious. The little jacket is soooo cute.
