This is a fundraiser quilt to be auctioned to help pay medical bills for a young man (24) who needed a kidney transplant. My quilt group pieced the top, I quilted it. The auction was last night in MN, waiting to hear if it sold.

Very nice quilt and great quilting!

Depending on the auction outcome, if you ever do another think about doing a raffle. Raffles can sometimes bring in more money.

That's beautiful. Hope it brought in a lot of $. I tend to agree with milp04 - sometimes selling raffle tickets can bring in more, especially in these economic times. People will spend a few $ faster than they will a large sum. However, that's water under the bridge now and I'm keeping fingers crossed that your beautiful quilt loosened up someone's pockets!

Thanks for all your good wishes for Matt, his surgery went well and we are hoping for the best. An anonymous donor came forward with a kidney for him, what an angel. I agree with the comments that a raffle may have raised more money. Unfortunately there wasn't time as I only had two months notice about the fundraiser and barely got the quilt done in time. Thanks again!

Gladys 03-14-2011 05:56 PM

That should raise some money. I love the colors. God bless the donor and and Matt.
