Here is my first funky chicken. The pattern is called Pollo Loco. Its a Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. pattern. Found it in one of my LQS's and the friend I was with, kept saying she just loved them. I picked up the pattern, and this one is for her.
Her kitchen has sunflowers on the curtains - yellow and green. But she's a huge purple fanatic - she just loves anything purple. I had a purple FQ that has yellow dots in it - perfect! This is the first time that I've every done the half square triangles (had to figure it out from another pattern I have), and the first time really quilting on my machine. I can't drop the feed dogs on my machine so its more of a challenge. I think I didn't do half badly. This is also only my 3rd quilting project. Not half bad. The yarn is yarn my friend (who the chicken is for) gave me. She's a knitter. So here it is, my first funky chicken. I sewed so much yesterday, I have a really stiff neck today! No sewing today - neck hurts too much. :( I have lots of cleaning to do.........sew, guess I'll get on with that.
Thanks for the comments ! Except for the stiff neck....it was fun. The next one will go much faster because I won't have to figure everything out. |
He's hilarious! Love him!

your funky chicken puts a smile on my face ;)

Such a cut critter!! I now your friend will smile when she sees him! Great job on making him! He is a piece of yourself to give to a friend. That is my definition of quilting!

That is great. I am sure your friend will be thrilled!
