This is a table runner made from a pattern called Leafing Out from the Quilting Arts TV show. The pattern was made by Frieda Anderson and uses her hand-dyed fabric (which is gorgeous) for the leaves. My first attempt at fusing using a scalloped blade in my rotary cutter - even the binding is fused then stitched down. This is a fun technique, try it!

That is just wonderful. I love the fabric for the leaves. Perfect. The other colors complement the leaves so well. Great job and thanks for sharing. Oh......your quilting is awesome.

This is beautiful. What type of fusing material did you use? And how did you do the edges of the leaves to keep them from fraying? I just bought a scalloped blade and wasn't sure how to use it. Thanks for the idea.

Debbie B, I used Steam a Seam 2. You can't tell from the picture, but there is a really tiny amount of fraying on some of the edges. The leaves are cut from hand-dyed fabric though, and I recently read that hand-dyed is a much tighter weave than commercial fabrics so the fraying is much less. Here is a link to a blog that talks about this issue:
