Great looking machine!

The rummage sale my mother volunteers at had one just like that donated to them. I was just salivating over it. I thought it was the prettiest thing ever. Too bad it was too far away and was too expensive for me to justify.
You got a great looking machine there! |

Georgeous find! So happy for you.

Beautiful! Did you check the Singer website? Also, check with Graham Forsdyke, he deals with old Singers, mainly FW, but he might know about this.
|
O.M.G what a treasure found....beautiful decal work and that cabinet to die for....I probably would have paid up to $1,000.00 for her....
|
Yours looks exactly like one I just bought. But mine was made into an electric, and I am going to put it back to treadle as soon as I can. I get it some time this week. Can't wait to see it in person...so far I only have pics from auction.
Mine is a 66-1, and I do not think yours is a 16K..they look very different. Check the serial number you posted. Some of Singer's old records are incorrect, too. The serial number you posted does come up a 16K made in 1920. But that's not your machine. |

You can get some interesting information on you're machine, if you have the correct brand & close year of manufacture, on the Smithsonian Institute's website. I forget the proper address but just google Smithsonian. I have a 1898 Wheeler-Wilson treadle and was amazed at what I found.

I think you have a very nice fine. GREAT JOB
|
the decaling is refered to as Lotuc or sometime thistle.
One of the nice features is the oversized handwhel which is great for hand turns and fabric rotations. |
i checked with singer and it was born bet july and dec 1915 in clydebank scotland model 66k. thanks to all your help and comments.
