Thank you. This quilt went to a bright but very physically challenged child who was taken from her parents by the courts after reports of severe abuse were made. She has just been adopted by a very loving family. A quilt is a great way to say that someone matters.
My first "serious" quilt went to a young relative in a similar situation. She wrote to me, "I didn't know you loved me that much." DH and I bawled.
I don't think we are judged, in the long run, by our blue ribbon quilts, but by the love we share, even with those we do not ever meet.
