Gee Whiz Eddie ... You really have a wonderfully organized space to work in now. I am the same way. I can't stand a disorganized room to sew in.

Can you please tell me how you made your own fabric boards - I really do want to try it now that you have been happy with yours - I realy wanted an opinion - thank you. Karen |

Karen I went to wal-mart to the fabric dept. and asked for their empty bolt holders then cut them down to fit my shelves. You could probably go to your lqs and get these, they are just gonna get thrown away. I also went to dollar tree and bought styrofoam boards, I cut them to fit my shelves. I got 6 out of each board. I got the dollar tree idea from another thread. So far I am very happy with the way it is starting to look, I can see everything. Still in the process of getting it done, been working on it for 3 days now. I have a little one so I have to take breaks very often. Have fun doing yours. I posted pic's of my mess on this thread before I started this project. It's either page 2 or 3, can't remember. Carrie |

I went by the LQS and got a few dozen of their empty cardboard fabric bolts, which they were only too glad to let me have. :) Now I can see all my yardage easily and it's much easier to roll of the bolt and cut. Smaller yardages are in plastic bins, along with jelly rolls and layer cakes.
Towards the back of the room you can see my sewing machine on the tables in the foreground, and my embroidery machine on the table in against the back wall. It feels good to be organized! So, show us pics of your room, too. I always like seeing how others organize their workspace. Thank You for the motivation to get my little area organized and cleaned. :D :D Once I get it done maybe I will get the quilting bug back. Thanks again. Carrie |
