That is a beautiful man quilt! I am envious at the artistic work on the quilting motif.
I understand trying to work on something special for the DH with out him seeing! I made my second quilt as a present for my DH for Christmas last year....I had to grab odd minutes here and there, rush to get home before him so I could squeeze in 30 mins before he got home.....tough, but OH so worth it to see his reaction! You are such a good wife to plan such a nice surprise for your hubby. |
Your quilt is stunning, and I agree that maybe a simple swirl, or a leavy free form vine would work well in the sashings, it would tie in with what you have quilted, and not be hard to do. try a little practice piece and see how you like it.

Very pretty! I like the suggestion of smaller vining leaves too :D:D:D

I'm sure he will love it. You've done a great job.

Great quilt! Your quilting is superb!!

OK, so I got to work on this quite a bit this weekend. I got all the patch strips quiltied and am working on a vine/leaf design for the sashing as several of you have suggested. I ran out of thread (used two 500 yd spools already) and need to pick up some more today! I'll post another pic when it's done so y'all can see how it turns out.
Thanks for all your comments and suggestions; it really does help me decide what to do next! |
Yes, I agree that the motif you are using works really well with the fabric and the design of the quilt. I like it a lot!!
