OMG, as a first grade teacher I have to say that is the best teacher gift idea I have ever heard. It truly is the thought that counts however I am up to my ears in coffee mugs, apples and coffee giftcards!

That is a perfect teacher gift! As a retired teacher(34 yrs.), I can tell you that a gift like that is one to be treasured. When a parent, or child made me something...I treasured that gift. It's great for the teacher to use in the classroom as a permanent decoration each month. Things like this make a classroom very homey and special.

Very cute. Good luck with the "block a month". I started that in January for DS and DIL. Got 3 made before life got in the way. I'm going to try and finish the set in the coming year.
