Gift wrap quilting

My mom gave me a tv for my quilting room today and this is how she wrapped it. I almost couldn’t tear the paper off! She had to get me started.

So creative! Looks like it took her a long time. I wouldn't have wanted to rip that paper off, either.

Jingle 12-25-2018 06:55 PM

Very pretty and clever gift wrapping.

Tartan 12-25-2018 07:10 PM

Oh cute! She knows you well. Have you made her a beautiful quilt yet?

JustAbitCrazy 12-25-2018 10:12 PM

So creative! Is she a quilter, too?

PamelaOry 12-26-2018 01:09 AM

Not yet, but I’ve made her smaller things, table runner etc.

. She is! She started quilting just a few months ago and is taking to it like a fish to water.

That's fantastic!

me too! I always say, "Get pictures!"

LindaMRB 12-26-2018 01:33 PM

Ha! It's a joke at my house how I save and recycle wrapping paper. This year I was told to retire or use up some that was at least 10 years old...Don't laugh too loudly but I iron tissue paper if it's not torn. Once you cram it into a gift bag, who can tell???

grammasharon 12-26-2018 01:56 PM

Very clever momma you have. I’m not sure I would have the patience.

SillySusan 12-26-2018 01:58 PM

Wow! How beautiful is this! What talent! We need to see some of her quilts!

How creative of your mom!

Ellen 1 12-26-2018 05:48 PM

Oh so fun to have your mom do this. Glad you took lots of photos.

ellifour 12-26-2018 06:28 PM

Oh so clever! I bet she knows you well

diamondee 12-26-2018 09:10 PM

Since you have some great photos of it, I think you should make her a quilt with that pattern. Use the side as a border. It would be fun.

BrendaK 12-27-2018 12:38 AM

Ditto to all that has been said. Cleverness must run in the family. BrendaK

A1penny 12-27-2018 04:42 AM

That is one of the most clever wrappings I've ever seen! What a mom!!

sue.ross.8782 12-27-2018 08:54 AM

She made patch work wrapping? I don't blame you for wanting to preserve the wrapping. How clever she is to come up with that.:o

Grandma Peg 12-27-2018 08:52 PM

Hi, this is "mom" ... yes, it was quite a day! Paper was pretty slippery so was challenging. Next time, I sew it ... easier :)

vikkim 01-05-2019 03:10 PM

Thanks everyone for all the comments on the wrapping. It was a lot of fun ... though I think I'd sew it if I did it again. Paper was pretty slippery. And it is true ... Pam started delicately picking at it to open it and I had to help her get started. Maybe I was more excited than she was! :)

jlt37869 01-05-2019 09:14 PM

Very clever!

rryder 01-06-2019 04:50 AM

Great wrapping job! Great present for you quilting room. And very cool that you and she share the quilting bug!

Whover mentioned ironing tissue paper, I do the same and also save and reuse wrapping paper, ribbons and bows. Got some bows that were here in the house when we moved in in ‘93. Getting kind of squashed now, but they do lend an arty flair to the gifts under the tree LOL!
