This has to do with quilting.....and would we do it again...in a heart beat!!
We had advised my husbands family that we would be pleased to host the next family reunion. His brothers wife had passed away and their only daughter asked if we would let her hold her wedding at our home, on the same weekend - well how could we say no!!. She was delighted and was hardto her having to make any decisions, I am the organizer, so jumped into gear and started to check with her on those things we needed to schedule. I baked all winter and tried recipes on all my neighbours, and had a pretty good idea of the menu plan, after receiving favourable input from all the ginea pigs.I had procured. and many happy neighbours....LOL I was busy sewing all the ladies an apron as well, One size fits all - they are always in the kitchen helping & they would appreciate taking home their apron - then we decided that everyone should take home a gift as a momentum from the bride and groom, ok now I was designing "Oven mitts" so I made 85 pair, see picture attached of some of those. Everyone stayed on our 1/2 acre, we had so many RVs, tents and a house full all floors, and we fed and entertained people for 14 days, what a party to remember, they still talk about how organized I was. I made all the tablecloths, decorations, flowers, looked after all the rental arrangements for porta potties, 4 Big tents and canopies, made accomodations arrangements for those 22 folks from Nfld, music, catering, etc., Phoned her and asked if she had got the marriage licence - she didn't know she needed a licence, and there was only a week to go...OMG she lives in Alberta and this is BC...it all worked out. All my quilting friends donated fabric to me, I worked day and night until it was all cleaned up and we jumped into our Motorhome and holidayed away for the next three months, but I did manage to take my quilting and sewing machine with me. Can you tell I love to sew... My pattern for the 85 pair of oven mitts I made and quilted The photographer took them away for pics, they had just purchased this bike but didn't know how to ride yet.
