The First picture is the Grandma's flower English piecing quilt. It took me 2 years to do the flowers.
The second pic is the quilting on the back. Third pic is a YoYo quilt that has to have been started approx 50 yrs ago or more. My Grandmother was working on it when she passed. My mother worked on it thru the years and gave it to me 20 years ago in 9 patch squares. I came across it in a cedar chest 3 yrs ago and decided to put it together. I was short 1 9 patch to finish it so I made 9 YoYo's and scattered them in with the others. This is my 3 generation quilt and it actually fits a twin bed. BEAUTIFUL! It's a treasure for your family to enjoy for generations to come!

The grandmothers flower garden is so great!! I love the way the quilting pops the flowers! It is so neat to have a three generation work finished....Much better displayed then kept put away. :D

Your grandmother flower garden is so pretty. What a great job quilting it. I am in love with the Yo Yo quilt. What a wonderful family heirloom. Thanks for sharing both with us.

Beautiful quilts!

I just love the GMFG. I am not fond of Yo - yo's, but I love your story and the quilt.

I'm doing a grandmothers flowers quilt (have 13 done, all by hand, in 2 months) and looking for a non-traditional pattern for putting them together-thought to connect them with black fabric but yours is intriguing. What size was your hexagon and what size square do you have them appliqued on? I have thirty four flowers cut out but wouldn't need as many with your method.
