Here are some potholders I've made for our family gathering we will have on Saturday. We get together every month... lots of cousins... we're all from 50-94... about 30-35 once a month. So thought this month we'd make some potholders out of leftover fabric... enjoy. We've made one for each family.

Judy, great patriotic pot holders. However I would really love to compliment you and your cousins for getting together once a month. I think that is marvelous.

Love them!

It really started when my husband's mother died on Christmas day 2006... it had been the 3 funeral in about 3 months and one of the cousins said...we have got to stop meeting like this... so my husband planned a get-together and we had about 35 cousins... we have 2 aunts one 94 and one 81... the oldest sister and the youngest sister are the only ones left... We weren't sure it would last long but, it's 2011 and we're still going... First Saturday of every month... I recommend it as I didn't know very many of them but now we are all very close

I have a beginner sewer that I am currently teaching. That is exactly what was going to be the project for this weekend. Little tiny baby quilts so she can see the whole process.....and then take something home completed....It is so wonderful to be able to share your skills with someone else.....that is something all of us should be doing. Otherwise it ends with us, and we need to pass it on.

n2scraplvr 07-01-2011 05:59 PM

Those are fabulous! Enjoy your holiday with family/friends!! :-D 8-)

So true! I got my love for quilting from Grandma. My aunts got her love for craft things and none of my cousins do any of this. Since I have a son maybe some day I'll get to pass my quilting things down to a granddaughter. Just hope it's not any time soon. ;-)
