Lovely quilt and gesture. Your friend will be this age (?) for an entire year why celebrate just one day! Give it to her when finished. I am certain she will love it no matter where in the year she actually receives her "birthday" gift.

Wow, that is such a beautiful quilt. Love the ribbon stripes which give it a modern look (to me) and just that much of a difference to other flag type quilts.

A friend from church that I've known for over 40 years mentioned that if she were to hire me to make a quilt for her, it would be a patriotic one. I do not do custom quilts... ever!
I decided to surprise her with a quilt for her birthday. I was shocked to learn last week that it is in nine days! I don't think I'll have it quilted by then, but the top is all pieced, and I can show her a picture of what is to come. I think she'll be over the moon. I've included the graph paper pattern that I made in case you would like to make one too. The second picture is the pieced top, and the third picture is the fabric that I will use for the back. |
