I also have been inspired by debbie to reorganize my sewing area. I found this fabric at the bottom of one of my totes and think it *might* be good for an OBW. My DH got me the 60degree triangle for my birthday so I've been dying to try out an OBW.
I've got about 3 yards, maybe 4. |
It's pretty fabric. I don't know what OBW is though.

One Block Wonder Think it depends on your repeats and what pattern you pick how many yards you need But I would say yes ones with black are usually very sharp and stunning
Yes, I think it would look fantastic as an OBW. What is the repeat length of it, doesn't look like a large repeat?
It would be very good. It looks like you have enough repeats. Would love to see pictures when you get it done.
without going upstairs to measure it again, offhand the repeats are 12"
Looks like a great choice!
So I've got the book, and I follow how to cut the repeats, but now how big would I cut my triangles? That's the one thing I'm really confused with.
I think it would be great. I can't wait to see it.

Make sure you post pics after you are done!!! Can't wait to see. :-)

It looks like a good choice to me. I am wanting to do a OBW myself and have 2 books and the ruler. Have been watching for the perfect fabric for mine. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!

I think this would make a really pretty disappearing 9 patch. That pattern is a quick and easy one.

I don't make them, but I think it would be beautiful with all of the bright colors!
I think it would be stunning.
that is beautiful fabric, looks like a small repeat.
I bet it will look gorgeous!! Be sure and post the blocks as you make them and the final quilts. I love looking at all these quilts! I'll have to make one someday.
Stunning, would be great if you have ennough repeats & yardage.
I've done several OBW before I know they were called that, and have never made one smaller than 5" per triangle size, but this looks like a great fabric for a smaller size "flower." Can hardly wait to see it.
I am addicted to OBW's so I vote yes, yes, yes!!!!
I'm doing one right now, and I'm following the 2nd book (the one with cubes) and she says to cut the rows 3 3/4" wide because you avoid getting repeats of the same triangles. Then you cut your triangles using the 3-3/4" line. You could do it with 3-1/2" rows and the 3-1/2" line - your hexagons would be a bit smaller.
