Very nice. You could make donation quilts from them.

I am so happy too see that they made it to Goodwill!! When I worked for them, my district threw them away, although they were supposed to call a charity for pickup.
Wow great find now you can make a gift to give away or keep

They were marked $2.00 a piece. I was trying to decide how many to buy when I realized that the green tags on them meant they were 75% off, which made them 50 cents a piece! There were 40 packages altogether. I took them all, thinking even though I don't have all 12 different blocks, I can put several of the same ones together and be creative with them and make a pretty unusual quilt! I have done these Joann's Block of the month kits before and while they aren't the best of quality fabric, they are fun to do for something quick and easy. 40 block of the month packages for $20!! |
Goodwill buys merchandise from large chain stores - Target, Bealls, Sears, not sure who else. The tags are usually still on the items. Be careful with clothing though because a lot of it is seconds or damaged if the store can't sell it. The quilt blocks were a fantastic deal!!!

congrats on a cool find! sandy |
Great fine. Have fun putting them together.
Wow! What a great deal. Going to go to Goodwill after work tonight and see what I can find!
You gotta love a good score at a second hand store I think I hear the start of a song here
What a find.
great deal. i bought several sets from a country store at a local quilt show for about the same price. like you say, good way to get a quick quilt.
remember you are not locked into the pattern that comes with, you can be adventurous and try some different patterns with the same fabric. you can even search for the patterns they show but you did not receive. some of them are just simple patterns available elsewhere. have fun. |

Once before, I got several of a different set of a Joann's block of the month on clearance at a Joann's store, There were not all of the sets there, and no setting kit either. I just bought a few extra blocks of the month and made up my own blocks to make up for the missing ones. Then I looked for "coordinating" fabric for the sashing, borders and binding. It turned out great looking. I will have fun being creative with this one also! |
You got a wonderful buy. I put this quilt together and it is beautiful.. Have fun.
Great finds. :):):)
if the fabric isn't cut up, you could substitute a different pattern to use the fabric on the duplicates. either way, you will be happy putting them together, knowing the terrific price you paid!
Congrats! What a great find. I bet you'll make a beautiful quilt!
again can't say how jealous I am!!
Oh so lucky you :-)
Whoo hoo!
Absolutely a lucky find for $20. I have a friend who does these blocks, but so far I haven't. I thought the material was marginal, but OK. But most of all it's a fantastic find.
Nice haul...
WOW!
What a great find. Lucky you!
What a great deal. Happy for you. I was in Goodwill today, but found nothing, but keep trying.
I check goodwill at least twice a week and I am never that lucky. Congratulations, you got a good deal.
You are a lucky girl. I never find anything good at my local Goodwill. All they ever have is clothes. Never any sewing machines or fabric or kits.
Central Ohio Quilter, I had the same luck at a Goodwill Store here in Oregon! I got each month for 99 cents each and the setting kit for 3.99. I think I am missing 3 of the blocks. I am going to do like you said, make all the blocks and put together some different gifts.
Wow what a find, lucky gal.....
This is an awesome find!!
Wish my Goodwill would mark things down!
That is quite the find. Bravo!
Did you see these at the Pataskala Good Will?
Wow, what a super find. Lucky you. I hope you enjoy them.
Have a blessed day. debra |
