The "goofed" quilt
2 Attachment(s)
Found these simple scrappy blocks (minus the assembly directions) in my UFO's last week and was determined to finish them. Found what I thought was enough for the borders and backing and then messed up cutting the backing so had to add another pink to the mixture. Not once, but twice! Have no idea anymore what the farbic names are, simply know that I quilted with a baby pink Onmi thread for the first time. Didn't turn out to bad if you ask me. It's been folded and refolded several times and now it won't lay flat until it's washed and dried. It will be a donation quilt and dropped off this week.

For being a "Goofed" quilt it came out very nice. Great job for a UFO with no instructions. I doubt if I could have figured it out as well as you did.

I agree with Snooze2978. Someone is going to love this quilt and will never know about it’s goofed up start😊

It will be loved by someone and they will never know that quilt back was a goof. Beautiful job. A friend in my quilting group on Wednesday said she was going to throw a quilt top away as she just didn't like it even though there was nothing wrong with it. I told her to give it to Project Linus as there is someone out there who really needs that quilt and will love it.

It's a wonderful quilt and the backing stripes look intentional. No one but you will know your "mistakes" so relax and donate to someone who will love it.

How clever and pretty.

Just saw this one on the Linus group! You did a good job fixing. Looks like it was meant to be! Thanks for supporting Project Linus.

MawMawB....I've help support Project Linus for over 10 years now and have donated over 80 quilts in that time. If I couldn't sew someone would have to put me in a straight jacket!

Congratulations on your determination to get things finished. I have been on the get ur done path lately myself, so I know it takes determination and strong drive with un-cooperative ufo's.

It looks like the original pattern must have been “Yellow Brick Road,” a very versatile pattern that always turns out great. Your improvised finish is fabulous! Love the colors and the touch of whimsy on the back!
