This quilt has been my friend who followed me everywhere since May 2010! About 350 hexagons of 3 inches giving it 54" X 66" Basted, pieced and quilted by hand. I used freezing paper for the english method. I pieced the border by machine and FHM quilted them. Because I love doing GFG so much, I started another one that you can see the design on a previous topic called "advice on GFG requested" (page 1: EQ design, bottom of page 2: work in progress) To all the people interested by GFG here is my advice: cut hexagons of freezing paper with a lot of precision. I rotary cut strip of freezing paper the size I need. Then I put the hexagon drawing under the strip and trace the "V" of both side with a thin pencil and cut them with a scissor being very very careful to maintain the precision. It's the key!! Perfect hexagons make perfect seams with no holes in the corners. Another advice: take your time. GFG is not a quilt to be rush. The slow pace makes it very relaxing and zen!
