She did an awesome job! Congrats to her. You are so lucky to have this to share with her. My granddaughter who is 11 doesn't have enough interest to last beyond the first 1/2 hour.

OMG! That is so great for her first quilt. We adults don't always make quilts that nice on our 2nd or 3rd attempt. Congrats to your granddaughter and YOU for your patience and teaching skills. She's a cutie for sure!!!

Wonderful that you can share your love of quilting with your granddaughter.

I think she did an outstanding job at her first attempt.....It was a very simple pattern to start with but she was very focused and listened to every word and detail I explained to her. I thought for sure after 30 min she would find something else to do but she stuck with it til that top was done. We started at 5pm and finishes the top at 1am. She was bound and determined it was going to be finished for Xmas. Now she wants a sewing machine and fabric, she took a list of what I had on my sewing table and gave the list to her dad...lol it was funny cause my son Cris said "Oh ma what have you done"?...........thank you for looking

GREAT job! Hope she keeps on quilting! I know they say quilting has really come back the last few years, I know more people work and have less time, but I'm glad, if the case is, more are getting back into it. Glad to see them start young! Hopefully, she will stick with it! My daughter has little interest, but even less time! My DGD wants to sew every time she is here, but they live over 3 hours away, so that isn't near as often as we'd like! Tell her how everyone on here is so proud of her!
