Granny's Hankies - Help with quilting the borders

1 Attachment(s)
I started this quilt last Jan as a BOM. Kept up with the blocks until the Holidays. I am using the QAYG method and am down to the borders. I echo quilted the center blocks, but would like to do something a little more showy for the borders, any suggestions? Thanks

Beautiful.....maybe applique vine and flowers around, using some of the designs in the blocks. Anything you do will be icing on the beautiful cake!

Stunning. Yes, maybe a small vine in the white section of the border. I would not do any more flowers. It may detract from the beauty of the center.

I can see a gentle unfussy feather winding around the blue blocks in the border. And how about curving lines around the inside of the blue blocks and triangles: ) (

I agree with both thoughts!

Beautiful quilt. The dark blue really sets off your lovely appliqued blocks. Great job. Peggy

I agree. I think that would be the perfect finishing touch. Feathers in the white part, continuous curves or no quilting at all in the blue.

Beautiful quilt Polly. Not at all what I expected when I opened the post. I thought it was going to be an actual handkerchief quilt. I like this much better.

Thanks for the suggestions. I really like the idea of the feathers, even though I am not that good with them. I will have to do a lot of practicing, I guess. I should have mentioned this pattern is by Just Quiltin with Denise Russart. She has a new FREE BOM starting in July. It is really pretty also.
