My mom (who my kids called Granny) loved to bottle fruit each September. When I found this fruit and vegetable fabric I just had to design a quilt of canning jars to remember her by. All those beautiful bottles would be lined up along the counter for several days to show off her hard work. I decided to display mine in a lovely wooden cupboard.

Love it. I've been thinking of doing something like this. Would a charm pack work? I don't want a whole lot of each fabric, just enough for one, maybe two, jars.

Awesome

You would need a piece 5" x 9" for each jar. It's best to get a group of friends together and buy a 1/4 yard of each fabric then swap. You should be able to get 8 jars from each 1/4 yard cut.

Canning jars are always fun and you have set them of so well in that WONDERFUL cabinet. That is really special. My "granny" canned too, and now I do as well.

It seems that canning has become really popular again. I spent many hours canning with my mom (who my kids called Granny). I gave it up once my kids were grown and I didn't have as many mouths to feed. I do still love to make freezer jam. Peggy
