noce to have this new site

Hi ladies....I just want to remind everyone of a couple of things. As the tops grow in size and beauty, we have to remember that they do need to be pieced as well as possible also. We want all the quilts to be ready to be sandwiched and quilted when they get home...so please remember that it is your responsibility to insure that BEFORE you mail your rounds out....

The top must be square (please measure it to be sure) and it must lay flat.

Everyone is doing a beautiful job...if you don't believe me, just take some time to surf all the group sites...please help keep them all on track though by making sure your addition meets the criteria ...Great job everyone and have fun!!

I just realised that I posted my picture of Lacelady's centre with the border I added to the wrong thread! Doh!

I had a hard time taking good pictures because the top is now just a bit wider than our queen-sized bed! You're going to have a HUGE quilt when it's done, Lesley! I really hope the pictures at least give you an idea of the effect I was going for.

The stars are machine-pieced and the butterflies in the four corners are fusible-web and then hand-appliqued, with a little touch of hand embroidery on each. I really hope Lesley likes the results!

It is in the mail on it's way to Colletta.

Cheers,
Jan

Before I ever looked at the second border, I had been to the quilting event, and found this fabric that I fell in love with and bought the bit that was on the bolt.
I hope that the camera did the color justice, and I perhaps should not be so proud of my efforts, but when I caught a reflection of the quilt in a mirror, I figured I had done a good job in the fact that the FIRST thing you notice is NOT the border I just added .... <g> .... blah, blah, blah .... what do y'all think?

Soo pretty.. it brings some of the center fabrics out!

Beautiful Omak! It looks absolutely great - sometimes the centres need a simpler border, and sometimes they need a more complex one, and I think you got this one exactly right! I can't wait to see it in person. I think I'm going to need advice from some of my Guild members for what to do for the next border!

Oh yes omak...I really like your addition...it blends just beautifully with the center....great job!
