Last fall our quilting group members were randomly given a children's book and challenged to make a quilt to go with it.
When I got a Peter Rabbit book I thought easy... Little did I know that Beatrix Potter fabric is hard to find but luckily I have a SIL that has a stash to die for.

Here's 'Peter's Friends' - first time machine quilting a baby quilt.:)
Our quilts will go to a local charity.

Dear Mommamac, I really love your Beatrix Potter Baby Quilt. You did a great job on it. Being it was your first baby quilt, did you find it hard to make???? I have to back to Joanns Fabrics to see if they have quilting classes. I have never attempted this before. I am really looking forward to beginning my project. Awaiting fabric. Quilt was not hard to make - it was the thought of quilting it that made me nervous since my FMQ skills are limited. I used painter's tape to mark at intervals and simply stitched along the edge of the tape.
You'll do fine I'm sure - there are lots of tutorials on this site & plenty of people on the board that can give you advice & support. Have fun!
