Guild sisters at work fr fire vicrtims
2 Attachment(s)
My sisters are busy creating quilts for forest fire victims. In the foreground are lovely quilts by Quilterlois. The group is meeting at our Senior Center weekly. Some fire victims appear to have left the area entirely. If we have extras, they will go to victims of the Valley Fire, around Middleton, CA.

I forgot to mention that we are in a network of guilds covering the northern part of our state
wow, great job
WOW! You ladies got organized quickly. The need is great because some of those families lost everything. Comfort comes from knowing that others care. The devastation is so great in that area.
:thumbup:Great quilts and well done!
Super work for a major tragedy A start for hope for the ones with the loses/
That is fantastic! Our guild is meeting today to work on our donation quilts to give to the fire department. They let us use their older building for our meetings so we are giving back.. How many do you think you will make?
A great project!
Lovely "warm hug" quilts being made there. Kudos to everyone involved in this effort! It's amazing what big hearts quilters have when a disaster strikes.
That is fantastic.
bless all of you they are beautiful quilts!!!
Great looking quilts.
Beautiful quilts. You will be blessed as well as those receiving them. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for your comments. We don't know how long we will be doing this. At our guild meeting in 2 weeks, I will have an idea of what has been accomplished so far. Yesterday, I saw 4 quilt tops made from my orphan blocks and the blocks I created for this. I am rather disabled, and can't sit for the time of these sessions, but we all work as we are able. I do know from reactions I have seen that quilts have tremendous healing power.

Sending prayers for the families to help them through this ordeal and blessings on all of you.
Keep up the good work!

What a great project

My oldest brother was in that mess. He was evacuated and spent 5 days in a friends's house with 5 other evacuees. Their house did not burn as the firemen stopped the fire from crossing Hwy 20. They are helping at the Moose Lodge shelter. They asked for monetary donations from the family so they could help. They are both teachers and they know of 20 teachers and 2 principals that have lost their homes. One elementary school also lost. I sent a check and they ended up with $850.00 to go to Walmart and get under ware, socks and night clothes. One elderly lady was going through some of the bins and my sis in law went over and asked what she was looking for. She needed a slip as she did not feel properly dressed without one. So sis-in-law went and got her one. Just makes me cry thinking of them. I have one quilt in a box ready to go out Monday.
