that's not so bad. you just don't know how to organize. hehehe.

when you get company, throw everything into laundry baskets that you keep empty for just that purpose. hide all the baskets in your own room until they go away! then very carefully, put everything back where it belongs. silly girl!

Now THAT looks like MY sewing area! Mine is my living room instead of my dining room.

Mine is set up in the dining room too but, fortunately, I have a sewing table there so I don't have to move everything when company comes.

Your sewing/dining room looks just like mine used to...I sewed that way for at least 20 years. Now that our son has moved out, I have taken over his room upstairs....have had it over a year now and I can't sew in it at all!!!! I am not kidding...it seems so far away from the rest of the house. So, now that both college daughters have moved home for the summer, my sewing room has become a big catch-all room...can't even get to my sewing machine. It is absolutely embarassing/discouraging. The most memorable times in my dining/sewing room were the 4H years...one girl would be doing pinning/etc. and the other would be yanking thread off the machine in order to rethread it for her project. Amazing how they both managed to end up with champions...they easily could have messed up their projects! It is funny now...was frustrating back then.

I have a small room packed to the roof, But I used a closet once by putting a small desk on end and letting it down. I mounted a lite to the underside of the shelf so I could see. I did this in our family room so I could sew and watch my children. Now I just have to keep my chihuahua out of my stuff.
LOL. Some day I will take a few photo's so you all can relate.

Oh yeah my "sewing room" has been taken over by my son for his bedroom (he has one downstairs!!). Everytime I sew I have to remove his dirty socks from my sewing table (yikes) and kick his shoes out of my way. My ironing board is forever covered in his sports jerseys. I guess it makes it an adventure...finding the machine.....I will miss it when he is gone.

I made a room in my basement into my sewing room. I have to share it with my sons pool table but that will soon be gone too. At the opposite end of the room I have a couch and t.v. its actually not too bad. I guess it being "my own" space makes it pretty nice. My house is very small so Im very fortunate I have found an area to call my own.
