Halloween Wall Hanging

1 Attachment(s)
I am undecided about the border. I love the fabric, but now I am thinking that I should use a 'black background' fabric. Our quilt store doesn't have one but I could wait until I go on a trip. What say you experts? Should I wait until I can get a black fabric or use the lime green.
This pattern is from The Quilter magazine, November 2009. I have had it marked for three years.
Nothing is sewn down, no blanket stitching in black yet - that is why the eyes look a little weird.
Thank you in advance for your opinions.
Oops the hand slipped on the post too.

Oh how cute!!!
I like the border as it is, but maybe something with a little more black would be good too!! I don't think a totally black border would be any better than what you already have. IMHO!

adorable! I think it depends on the look you are going for. A more black border will make it maybe spookier? but the green border you have there gives it a fun whimsical look! I rather like the green! Whatever you do it is going to be a great Halloween decoration!

l like your wall hanging
cute.

I think a small solid black border around the yellow/gold first and then that greenish border would make your border pop.

I really like the green. I think it is adorable and won't "scare" the kiddies too bad.

How darling...how about binding in black

Sewfine 08-28-2012 07:07 PM

Ditto on this, I think perhaps that particular yellow to green transition might be making you second guess yourself.

I like it the way it is. Probably bind it in black. I really think is's a great halloween wall hanging.

I agree. I think the golden border and the green one are too close in value, but a little black between them will add separation to set them both off really well. Cute quilt!

OOOOOH love it as is. I love the border on it. wonderful job,.

Adorable, I like the green border. It makes the cute main design pop more. If you really wanted black I would just do a thin black border around the yellow border. Then still use that green print as your main outer border.

great quilt.
I like the border. It's ghoulish.

Yes, that would be my suggestion, too. This is one adorable little quilt! I can't wait to see it all done!

I like the border, it's very cute. Black binding would tie it together.

ruthie 08-30-2012 02:40 PM

how cute is that.

showmehow 09-04-2012 06:44 AM

I agree with the little black border before the green, Id really love to see the finished product, I bet it will be too cute.
