Hand appliqued baby quilt

I've been working on this since summer. Granddaughter due Christmas Day. Hope to have it quilted by then and show next pic of it with the baby on it! Pattern is from the book Critter Caboodle by Linda Hohag. I've had the book a while, waiting for the right baby to make it for. Thanks for letting me share!

Just darling! Funny how we "save" those beautiful projects for the right recipient! Can't wait to see the little darling to put on top of it. I had a Dec. 23rd baby and a Dec. 26th mom. Don't forget the birthday presents! You've done a fabulous job. Sweet!

Oh, how precious! Beautiful job!
|
Sew adorable! You might want to save some backing fabric in case you need to make hanging loops in case they want to put it up as a wallhanging in the baby's room.
|
Congratulations on a new grand baby in 13 days (or so)! The quilt you made is so bright and adorable...it will be treasured! I will look for the pic of the baby on the quilt.

Absolutely adorable, what a lovely quilt for your soon to arrive granddaughter. I love the pattern and the fabrics you chose are so cheerful and pretty. My granddaughter is getting married on 12/23. Maybe if I start now I could make one like yours for her first baby (not that that's happening any time soon!)
|
So sweet! Love the charactors and fabric choices! Congratulations on little arrival. Hope you finish on time too! Will be a treasure!

it is needle turned, although i find a wet wooden toothpick works better. I also tried her starch method using heat proof template plastic and a tiny iron for some of the pieces. Very time consuming and labor intensive, but so easy to stitch down. I just had to determine which ones were worth the time to use that method.

really cute...........................love the baby quilts now..............................................
