My friend JoEllen embroidered the blocks on this quilt, all done by hand.
I'm having fun quilting it for her, this is her second Halloween quilt using a different pattern. She is our Embroidery Queen. |
Too too cute! Great job on the quilting!

This is another hand embroidery work that we are doing... some of it is color crayoned work that is set with an iron and then embroidery work is added, I just couldn't resist this pattern... Setting all UFO's aside... whoops!
The lighting in the shop made the picture green, it's an off white back ground.. So neat! |

Very cute and great job on the quilting!
|
I love both quilts!!! Awesome work!
|
Ooh Crissie
Both are beautiful - the second one with the snowman on you said has been coloured in with crayons & set with an iron. Are these a specific fabric crayon or the standard type that children use. I love the effect it gives & the quilting is lovely too. Tisha |
The embroidery work is great! I've got a Sunbonnet Sue redwork about a third done. Time to gat back at it. I love the colored embroidery also. I've seen some of that in a quilt show we had here last year. It certainly adds another dimension. Great quilts!

Trisa ... Just plan color crayons are used and you put paper on the ironing board before laying the colored fabric on and paper towels over that so the iron is kept clean too. I'll find a picture of some quilt we all did years ago and then I quilted about five of them, I've got another one that I'm getting ready to quilt. I use a lot of sulky, Rayons and glitzy threads, some of the ladies used beads to decorate the insides of the flowers. It was fun and they all were a bit different.

Wonderful work. I am in awe of anyone that can embroider that well. Great job.

I have seen the halloween embrodery pattern at clotilde, I think. The lacetales.com site has many neat old time patterns that are very sweet. I have bought them from my local quilt store too.
