Your handquilting is absolutely inspirational! Now I want to finish a quilt by hand. Looking at your work gave me a "V8" moment....I don't think I've ever seen a quilt hand-quilted with such detail; I thought that was only done on machines. It would be wonderful if you could post a tutorial, or just some tips you've learned over the years about handquilting.

Your quilts simeply take my breath away. When I started, I didn't believe a quilt was really a quilt unless it was handmade. I was a teenager, and impatient, and had a hard time making things square; so I switched to machines, then stopped altogether when I had my DS. I especially like the brown circular one you've posted-it shows you can be modern and still do it by hand, just amazing.

I agree that the long arm meadering looks more like a blanket than a quilt, and I also dislike the stiff, over-quilted, over-feathered monstrocities. I'm sure I'll insult a lot of people, but it seems like some people buy long arms to compensate for their inability to quilt well. I say this objectively-from someone who only pieces, but I appreciate well done quilting and agree hand quilting should be a separate category.

Absolutely gorgeous! I hand and machine quilt, but have recently decided to drop the machine quilting and do exclusively hand quilts. After several friends dropped more than 30k each on longarms, embroidery machines, etc, I now see that we enjoy two different crafts. They both have their own rewards, but I will make my mark hand quilting! I plan to follow more handquilters online, and perfect my technique, to speed up the process a bit.

All I can say is wow. Your work is simply stunning. I have never hand quilted before and I always wanted to try, but with my MS, it makes it hard to do a lot of accurate repapetative motion. But mark my words, one day I will do a quilt by hand. And I hope that it is half as nice as yours.

My favorite part of making a quilt is hand quilting.I find it soooo calming and relaxing. I do admire the machine quil ting, tho, and I am NOT good at doing it.There is tons of talent in machine quilting but i certainly do favor hand quilting. By the way, yours IS beautiful!!

Your work I beautiful!
Like one of the responces said, some of us don't have alot of time. Some of us are unable to due to physical conditions, like myself I have had carpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands 11 years ago and need to have it redone. I do envy the beautiful work.
