This is just Beautiful! I have had a pattern like this for years and years, and I've just not made it yet. I even have collected enough hankies to probably do more than one. I really need to get on the ball!
So glad you shared,
Lisa

All the butterflys are nice, but I really love the middle one, it kind of reminds me of the hugh moths that I saw as a kid.

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN A QUILT MADE WITH HANKIES. GREAT JOB!

daisydebby 03-03-2011 10:40 PM

Very nice!!! We did this at our quilt guild several years ago. I have 20 blocks done....well, I don't have the antennas stitched on .... moved onto another project. Will have to round that up and finish. Was an honor to get old hankies from my grandma and great grandma (my mom passed them down to me). Thank you for sharing and triggering memories:)

Quiltaddict 03-03-2011 11:12 PM

That is gorgeous. I may have to start looking for old hankies when I'm out at garage sales.

Mona Marie 03-04-2011 06:38 AM

This is lovely!
One of the motivations to quilt 20+ years ago was a hankie that had been my grandmother's.
I still have it and would love to one day make one of these.
Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!

Mine were given to me many years ago, but check yard sales, flea markets, & thrift stores.
Hope this will help you find some.

I know what you mean about living to a ripe old age. I also have to many quilts that I want to do. And every time I look at this quilt board I get more and more ideas. 61 years now boy I will really have to live long.

Funks Retreat 03-09-2011 12:18 PM

This is beautiful. My mother had many decorative hankies that I inherited and didn't know what to do with. Thank you for your inspiration.
Did you have a specific pattern that you used or was this designed on your own?

Thank you for your response.
