Happy Birthday with Hello Kitty!
 

My GD turned 8 November 11. I thought she would be ready for her first sewing machine. I called a QS near her in west Florida and they wrapped HelloKitty up for me. It's a full size Janome! I'm so excited for her. They also packaged basic supplies and a fun set of fat quarters! Her daddy picked it up and even her mommy was surprised when he walked into their home with the giant wrapped gift.

She couldn't wait to try out her new machine and sat through Church whispering with her little BFF about all the things she could make. After church her mommy helped her cut some of the cute fat quarters and you can see her first completed sewing project! Now she's working on her own ISPY quilt. She was going to gift it to her friend, but as she sewed her mom videoed her saying, "Oh some of these are so cute.." She's hooked and her mom thinks she's decided to keep the ISPY she's making. I'll post a pic when she finishes that. lol Isn't she cute.

What a wonderful birthday gift for your sweet granddaughter! My grandmother gave me my first sewing machine on my 8th birthday, it was a Singer treadle machine. That gift instilled in my a lifelong love of sewing and quilting, I hope your gift will do the same for your granddaughter.

Your GD is adorable...and so is that sewing machine! I never saw one before. That is a GREAT gift, and you've just started another youngster on her way to becoming a real sew-er or quilter. Your a wonderful grandma!
