As i was looking on Craigslist at job listings, i just thought I'd type in sewing machines. Well i clicked on an ad that just said Estate sale April, 30. Well here is what i found. I have a baby finally.....I'm naming her Maria after my grandmother how taught me how to sew on her Singer trundle Machine. These pictures were taken as soon as I got her home, she is beautiful even dirty. I need to get the cord replaced it seems a little old and I don't want anything to happen to her. It came with so many different feet and I don't even know how to use them yet. The original manual was in the case too.

Here's the site to check your SN to see when "Maria" was born.
I looked it up but thought you might want the pleasure of doing it yourself. You did GOOD!!!!

How fortunate you are. She was born on or slightly after March 18th, 1935.

The more I read about the featherweights, I am beginning to think I need one. I went to a hospital to show their volunteers how to make weighted blankets. I pulled out my Janome 2007DCLE, and they all pulled out their featherweights. Needless to say, they were so impressed with my machine and table that I use with it, and I was impressed with theirs.

I just took her to get an overhaul and all spruced up. Can't wait to start sewing on her.

Demshine 04-29-2011 08:26 PM

She's beautiful! How much did you pay for her, if you don't mind my asking?

DesiG 04-29-2011 09:12 PM

My daughter and I both have featherweights- mine came from my MIL, who dragged it home from a garage sale and innocently said "Is this one of those old sewing machines that you drool over?" I almost fell over, since the machine was almost perfect, hardly any scratches or wear, and had all the attachments, the oil can and even the buttonholer in the box. Even the case is in great condition! She was 'born' in 1955, my daughters was born in 1951, hers was mine at first, and is in a little more well loved condition. Welcome to the featherweight club- they are wonderful little machines :-)

$100 I found her on craigslist under garage sales. I sent an email and meet with her that afternoon. She told me she got at least 50 emails after mine. So glad she went with the first response.
