Happy New Year
2 Attachment(s)
On New Year's Eve I participated in a mystery challenge sponsored by the Virginia Consortium of Quilters. The pattern was designed by Meghan Shafer. She named her pattern "Sunshine." Her pattern is for sale in her Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/nighthawkq...yjPh2kcJKczStw
Before December 31 we were given instructions on how to cut out all of our pieces from four fabrics that played well together. That took me three days to finish. At 10:00 a.m. on 12/31/2022 were given the first clue on Zoom. A new clue was given every hour until 4:00 p.m. It was alot of fun. Since mine wasn't made with "Sunshine" colors I wanted a different name. I used piano keyboard fabric in mine and decided on the name "Happy New Year." I also changed my layout a bit. I made a large log cabin block on the back with the fabrics that I used on the front. |
Oh I like that. the blocks with more red look like they are exploding!

Cool pattern. Sounds like it was a fun mystery. Really like the colorway you chose.

What a fabulous finish! You chose wonderful colors ro really make it pop, well done.

I love your Happy New Year quilt, Jenn. It's beautiful!

I love it and would never have thought to put those fabrics together. You have a great eye. Thanks for the info. on the pattern.

You sure made this pattern look totally different. I just went to look at the layout on Etsy. This makes you have two different quilts with the same pattern. It was a struggle for me to recognize the hourglass in the center of your corner blocks. In the pattern layout those blocks are in the middle of the outer edges. Great job, to change fabrics and block setting, to make it your own interpretation. That is why we piece these tops, isn't it!
