Happy quilt for a friend

2 Attachment(s)
I have a dear friends who, for years, has said "when are you going to make ME a quilt?" I knew I would make her one at some point, but someone was always having a baby, or graduating, or something. Now she is on hospice, so she of course got moved to the top of the list. The quilt, made from a jelly roll I have had for some time, is actually Bric-a-Brac from the book Jelly Roll Quilts by Kathy Brown, but I call it Covered in Love. It was beautifully quilted by my friend on her long arm. I KNOW my sweet friend will love it. And on a personal note- if there's someone dear to you that you want to make a quilt for some day, do it now!

such a lovely quilt. She will love it. I was making one with fussy cuts of pin up girls. thought to make it for my friends husband and then found he went to hospice. I don't know if he ever saw it. wish i'd thought of doing it sooner.

Yes, one should not wait to give gifts to friends… Lovely quilt that her family will cherish when she is gone...

I so agree, make the quilt. I lost my sister three months ago, she was also on Hospice for 4 months and she so treasured the quilt my sister and I made for her

I'm sure it will brighten many of her days. Nice of you to make her one.

So sorry about your friend. I made a queen quilt for one of my friends this year with no expense to her, just to let her know that I value her friendship and miss her. She's now in Texas and I'm in Iowa.

Amen and don't wait for Christmas either.

That striped border just sets the quilt off nicely.

Cute quilt! I just gifted both of my sisters a quilt for their birthdays. I had done quilts for all my nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews but not my sisters. They were thrilled.

A beautiful quilt and I know just how you feel. I have a waiting list for quilts and just when I think I'm almost done with the list someone gets married or has another baby. I have 3 quilts I want to make for myself but I feel guilty working on them until I have finished the quilts I promised to others.

twinkie 10-12-2016 12:21 PM

Sorry for your friends illness. It is a nice quilt.
