Finally, this weekend I worked on this quilt top to finish it with my plan for wonky snowballs. Moments before I started sewing them, I drew a picture of 3 of them and what I wanted to achieve, but after doing 68 snowballs, after awhile, any angle works great on each of the 4 corners as long as they are different. It was fun! I loved doing these! If you try them, just make sure nothing meets right and you'll have a great WSB! It's hard to see the quilt from this distance, so I'll show closeups. And you know me, I love to do that! The last pic is a great surprise in the quilt and just shows my love for God's stars! Have fun making WS and WSB!! :D

my kind of quilt...love it...bright and cheerful... however, cannot see the heart!

LOVE it.
And the stripe is so interesting. It works as a perfect calm counter to the fabulous wild scrappy stars. And the border treatment is perfect. Outstanding job!! eta: I think the notion of scrappy is sometimes (unfairly) attributed to something that was just thrown together. The more I look at this quilt, it's clear how much thought when into the placement of pretty much every "scrap." It really is a great quilt. |
