I made this harley quilt for my Bro in law last year. I embroidered a poem on the backing but did not take a pic of it.

I love it! I have been given a tote of Harley shirts to turn into a quilt, do you put interfacing on them first?

I used the lightweight interfacing on them. You need to cut the shirts and fuse the interfacing on them before you cut the desired size of the block.

Very nice quilt that I'm sure will create lots of smiles from the recipient. I wondered how to do t-shirt quilts - as a newbie, I couldn't figure out how the stretchy fabric would work with the cottons. Well, now I know... Thanks.

OMG I have been saving Harley tshirts of my husbands for a few years and that is EXACTLY what I was going to do with them---complete with the flame borders!! Great minds DO think alike LOL LOL
Now I know what my finished quilt will look like!!!

I too was wondering how the t-shirt fabric would work, now I know.... interfacing. Got it!
Great use for all the "can't get rid of" t-shirts!
