This quilt is for a dear friend and co-worker. Her last name is 'Hart' and she loves purple.... but I do believe she deserves a 'purple heart' for working with me. It's her birthday today and we gave it to her last night and had lots of fun :):)

These are 5 inch blocks and the hearts are appliqued on and then hand tied. White flannel backing.

That's pretty cute. I didn't have my contacts in, and thought the tied piece had a clock. The strings looked like clock hands to me! Hearts are my fav.

Hi Barb- this little gal is usually pretty quiet and isn't a babbler (unlike me) but she was very excited to get her quilt. I told her every one of the hearts had a hug and lots of love in it for her. So hopefully she will feel most loved and appreciated while snuggling in it. She has declined on many occasions to wear a bicycle helmet (it would fit under our scrub hats) to protect the brain we both share :):) .... uh, I need that brain alot :D :D

I made one quite similar to this some years ago. A customer asked me to make her one for her daughter for her big bed... Her big bed was a queen size quilt!!! The little girl was about 3 when I made this quilt. Here is a photo
