I'm having problems with the circles. My friend is doing one too. She thinks that the squares should be left in quarters to add the circles. I've sewed most of mine together in 2 or 3 pieces. Not sure how to get the circles in right . I might have to take them apart add circles and sew them back together. Any ideas? We missed the class because we were snowed in that day.

Never heard of that pattern, but it sure looks like it will be pretty once you get it all together.
Maybe you can go to where the class was and get a "mini" class?

The teacher lives out of state. I've wrriten to her twice but no answer. She must be out on the road some where with her classes. Her quilts are really nice. You can see them at http://www.alicekayquilts.com/Gallery.htm
Her Flamenco quilt its really close looking to the fan dance. Thanks,

I've never done one, but a teacher in a class I took said she appliques the circles in and is able to get them more accurate that way.

I'm anxious to see it come together. What you have is shows off some pretty fabric and complimentary colors.

That is going to be so pretty when it is done! Love the colors.

I may be able to get it in that way. Just have to turn in the quarter inch. Just don't want stitches showing. Oh well, Thanks everyone. I may just have to do it that way. I wanted to enter this in the fair in July. May not be done on time. We are just matching this to a picture. It's hard to do that.

It is going to be lovely!
Great colors!

If the pattern pieces are 1/4 of a circle, then I would think you would complete each quarter block and then sew the quarters together.

I agree with amma, if your pieces are 1/4" circles then take your 1/4 circle and place the pieces wrong sides together. Pin the circle piece in the middle and then pin the two outside pieces either side (hope that makes sense). Now pin very carefully all the way round easing in andy fabric. If it is too tight when once it is sewn you can make tiny cuts to make it lay flat.

Hope that helps.

I have just looked again at the pattern. When once you have made two of your blocks sew them together. Sew the other two together and then sew the four blocks together that way. Donīt try adding one block to the next. do hope that makes sense to you.
