love it!

your dad quilts? i need to introduce him to my dad.

gcathie 07-01-2008 11:31 PM

Can you imagine he does a wonderful job...been at it for 3 or 4 years now and he just loves it...So when he retires he is all set...he has a Longarm Gammil... My Mom quilts too and she keeps him busy and he has had a lot of practice....I try to keep him in quilts as does my Mom...

Thanks on the compliment...log cabin is my least favorite block to do...just don't care for it at all....but loved this look... :D

Really pretty!
After you send it to the quilters, you can just send it here.
It looks like it needs a vacation! ;)

Oh my very nice I love the log cabin quilt and I can't wait to see what dad does to it.

kathy 07-02-2008 03:06 AM

oh I can't believe you don'y like log cabins! I just love them because they go together quickly and are so versatile. if you did that good on one you don't like I can't imagine what you could do with one you do! I just love it and can't wait to see what your dad does with it.

Roben 07-02-2008 03:51 AM

That is absolutely gorgeous! I love the balance of colors :D

jacquemoe 07-02-2008 05:14 AM

Oh WOW! That is beautiful. I can hardly wait to see what you dad does with it. I'll want close-ups on that one.
Wonderful job there.

I love your log cabin, but I don't do them. I do a couple blocks and they look wonky, so they make nice pot holders :D

I love that star! What a great way to get a star quilt without making a star. I personally love it, and while I've got a quilt sized "star" planned into one of my upcomming projects it's not a long cabin. Very nice layout and colors! :D

Cordelia 07-02-2008 06:10 AM

Hey! A carpenter's wheel! Awsome!

barnbum 07-02-2008 06:30 AM

I LOVE log cabins! What makes you not like them? I love the sort of snail trail block mixed in. Just a wow factor going on here! Please show us the quilting when you get it back.

Does you dad need more quilt tops to work on? If he ever gets bored, let me know.

Bevanger 07-02-2008 06:39 AM

BEAUTIFUL..... Its so neat your dad sews. My dad taught me to sew when I was 5

Minda 07-02-2008 06:49 AM

Your quilt is beautiful!!
I love log cabin quilts. What is it that you don't like about them? My daughter likes how they look, but finds them very boring to make. I think they go together so quickly that you don't have time to get bored. :D :D

gcathie 07-02-2008 08:39 AM

Ahh suks... I just can't take all these compliments.. :D just keep them coming.... 8)

Okay the reason I don't like log cabins is they do look all whopper jawed!!! I was told I need to square the block up everytime it maks a square block...yek....and this log cabin is made from one inch strips...that makes 19 strips in one of those blocks...AND the first time I did a log cabin I put a strip on the wrong side and didn't catch it till the entire block was done....NOW we all know why I don't like log cabin blocks..... :XD: :XD:

mgshaw 07-02-2008 09:44 AM

Well its beautiful, and I love log cabins because there are sooo many possibilties in design. You did great!!!

quiltsRfun 07-02-2008 10:11 AM

These are gorgeous! How nice to have a dad who quilts. I'm jealous! He will definitely be set for retirement. Could probably do pretty well at it for an extra source of income.

Marcia 07-02-2008 10:44 AM

It is a beautiful quilt-a great setting for a simple, common block. Stunning!!!! And I love your color choice.

gcathie 07-02-2008 03:11 PM

Thanks everyone!!! your all so nice....but if you could see it up close ....I wonder what you would say...Well anyhow I tried....next will be a wider strip maybe that will go better.... :D

DeeJays10 07-02-2008 05:39 PM
