Okay ladies and gentlemen, I am stuck on if I should put sashing around the quilt....let me know what you all think....Susan

I would just to kinda frame it. I'd use the light blue as in the background of kitty. It will look just as nice without.

quiltinggirl 03-20-2012 10:08 AM

I think this will look cute just like it is or with borders. It took me a long time before I could allow myself to make a quilt without using borders. LOL Either way you finish this, it will make some little girls' eyes brighten up. Very nice job!

sengell 03-20-2012 10:11 AM

I think you should just bind it in a bright pink that matches the pink around the hello kitty.

Kim Bohannon 03-20-2012 10:12 AM

susan, it looks great without a border... but a border might just "finish" the quilt! if you know what I mean... either the light blue or a light pink I would think... I just love it!

Tweety2911 03-20-2012 10:13 AM

It is so adorable and bindng it as is would be just fine unless you need to make the quilt bigger.

char634w 03-20-2012 10:30 AM

Love your quilt, it is so happy. Either with or without a sashing would look nice.

mighty 03-20-2012 10:43 AM

I agree either way it is beautiful!

Wagoza 03-20-2012 10:47 AM

I like it the way it is. A border may take away from the rainbow colors on the edge.

rosealee 03-20-2012 10:56 AM

I would just bind it.

PaperPrincess 03-20-2012 11:41 AM

Either way it will be wonderful! If you do decide to leave the border off and are going to FMQ or LAQ it, be sure and do a line of stay stitching about 1/8" from the edge this will stablize it so the pieces of the braid won't come apart as it's quilted.

cat2quilt 03-20-2012 11:45 AM

It is great the way it is but if you need it bigger, a pink border would look good

Vivian Ketron 03-20-2012 12:10 PM

I would put a borders on it also.Beautiful quilt.

sewnsewer2 03-20-2012 12:21 PM

Cute! I'm almost done with a hello kitty quilt I'm making for my DGD too.

sonisew 03-20-2012 12:53 PM

I would add a boarder. Nice work on your quilt!

Peggy Jeanne 03-20-2012 01:20 PM

Yes, I would put a border on it. It will frame the colors!

sewgarden 03-20-2012 01:23 PM

i would just bind it in the same dark pink

EvelynJ 03-20-2012 01:29 PM

My 5-year old Bridget like the quilt just the way it is. I am sure it will turn out fabulous anyway you decide. Now Bridget wants one. Thanks Susan!

I agree. I think a fairly wide pink binding would be perfect. This quilt is too, too cute! I love it!

I also like it just the way it is. Cute quilt, love the border!

faykilgore 03-20-2012 03:40 PM

That is just too cute! I agree that a matching tonal blue or pink border would frame it nicely.

gigi4419 03-20-2012 03:55 PM

Really cute!

playswithcolor 03-20-2012 04:36 PM

I would only add a border if you want the size to be a little bigger. I would bind it with a brighter fabric. Maybe audition colors for binding from your leftover strips?

nannyrick 03-20-2012 04:51 PM

That is adorable. I would use borders.

granmalovesyou 03-20-2012 05:39 PM

I think either way would be great

Jammin' Jane 03-20-2012 07:45 PM

I would just bind it in hot pink!! :)

I agree. I think you need to put a border to finish the quilt. That is an adorable quilt!!

BETTY62 03-20-2012 08:23 PM

Your quilt is just too cute. Like who doesn't love Hello Kitty.

cjackaitlin 03-21-2012 05:25 AM

I go with Kim, a border just finishes it. Although it is cute just as is.

quiltymom 03-21-2012 05:27 AM

Sew love it I would just bind it!!!

Jingle 03-21-2012 06:36 AM

Yes, I think a border would finish it off very nicely. It is very cute and I love the strips.
